Our History
"A New Beginning Because of God's Grace."
HISTORY
New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church was organized in December 2014 through a vision given by God to Rev. Daniel L. Freeman. After much fasting and praying, God led Pastor Freeman and a group of people together to serve the Lansing community. The journey began with finding a church home. The group toured a vacant church building at 107 E. Kay Street in Lansing and quickly fell in love with its welcoming spirit. The group agreed that this would be the location for them to serve the Lord.
Our first organizing meeting was held on Saturday, December 27, 2014. At this meeting six members joined. The Holy Spirit led the group to hold a prayer service Sunday, the next day with a host of family and friends seeking God for guidance for our new ministry After this service, four more people became members. The first worship service was held on Sunday, January 4, 2015 where four more members joined.
On January 11, 2015, our ministry experienced the loss of one of our beloved members, Brother Thomas Mann. Bro. Mann was very excited about the ministry and his spirit will forever be with us reminding us that because of God's grace, "we are all better than we deserve."
Since the beginning, our ministry has quickly grown to 60 members, including several candidates for baptism. On Sunday, March 15, 2015 we went from New Beginning Missionary Baptist Mission to New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church. We look forward to fulfilling our mission, "An imperfect church, trying to reach imperfect people for a perfect God by teaching love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness.
